Round Island is a private 12-acre island in Poole Harbour – a place to step away from the everyday and have time, space and freedom to yourselves.
Whether you’re bringing together a team, gathering clients or friends, planning a team celebration or simply looking for somewhere to reconnect the team!, the island gives you something a little extraordinary: your own space, surrounded by water.
Arrive by boat. Walk through the woodland. Gather around the table. Head down to the beach. Take to the water.
We describe the island experience as “Swallows & Amazons meets Enid Blyton”. It is informal, immersive and a little removed from everyday life. The business events we host show how quickly the island can create a sense of calm, encourage open conversation and give people space to think — with the occasional interruption from resident peacocks, golden pheasants or seals!
It isn’t a corporate venue — and that’s rather the point.
An event day, a retreat, a celebration, time with family and friends, a team escape, or something we haven’t thought of yet.
With three cottages, a marquee space, a place to gather, sheltered sandy beaches, woodland paths and your own boat crossing, the island gives you the freedom to shape the experience around the people you’re bringing together.

We enjoy a fantastic spot in the quiet area of the Harbour, from where we take in 360 degree views right from the entrance of the Harbour, across the Islands, across the Purbeck hills, all the way round to the commercial port of Poole.
The Island is located in the Wytch Channel, in a quiet and sheltered western area spot right opposite the RSPB Reserve on the Arne Headland. Just a 20 minute trip from our Poole Marina base, we can provide transport for up to 11 Guests on our licensed boat. Alternatively, for those visiting by their own motor or sail, our Guests can make use of our pier, pontoon and 2 swinging moorings by prior arrangement.
